How often have you given thought to the clothing you wear at home – in the living room, in the bedroom, when you don’t have to dress for anyone but yourself? This thought is precisely what gave birth to SelfWear, a term Lois Tien has created to describe the clothes from her freshly launched label SoL. A cross between loungewear and sleepwear, SelfWear is designed for your “me moments”, with materials and practices that are good for the planet, you and the people who made them.
She launched her label on Kickstarter and the project reached its goal within a day! Find out why by checking out the campaign yourself. To support the project and also get your SelfWear set early, do so before Wed, August 26 2020 12:00 AM AWST!
When I first met Lois through a friend. I was inspired by her sunshine demeanor 🌻 and we chatted away about working in the fashion industry, the environmental and social issues associated with it, and how we can each play a role in being part of the change.
Before starting SoL, Lois worked at companies like Li & Fung and J Crew. She also headed up business development at Anagram, the premium label under her family’s manufacturing’s business (her father started the G2000 group in Hong Kong). But now, she is ready to start a new chapter with her company’s launch.
There is way more to the inspirations behind the brand, the purpose behind the company and its environmental and social commitments. Check out my socially distanced chat with Lois to learn more!
